Tính từ ngắn là tính từ có 1 âm tiết, khi đưa từ tính từ lúc đầu sang tính từ đối chiếu ta thêm “er” vào cuối, tuy nhiên, vẫn có một số trong những trường đúng theo ngoại lệ. Ví dụ:

healthy => healthierlucky => luckierlovely => lovelier
